The story of a migrant with a strong desire of having a professional
job in the U.S.
Many people told me during years that having a professional
job for a person educated outside of the “American system” was a non-realistic
idea. It is very possible that you have heard the expression “I leave my Engineer degree the moment I took that plane that brought me to this country”. Well, let
me tell you that is not true. Just another myth. We all could have our own
doubts about how this process can be done, but the true is, the United States
is a big country and immigrants, moreover, skilled immigrants, will always have
their own space to find their own place and be successful in this country.
My goal writing this book, is to share with you my
experience, and the experience of those who, like me, have completed the whole
process to become professional engineers in this context. There are many people
who I would like to thank, people and organizations who have been helpful when
in doubt, and that make a whole difference for us, the skilled people and the
companies who are growing in this country and have realized that using our
experiences, expertise and skills adds more value to their businesses in a
globalized economy of the XXI century.
